Midi Madness

If you ask me, I don’t have any problems going back to the time when women wear skirts as full as this – the MIDI.  I was checking a brief history of women’s fashion prior to working on this post and I learned that this particular type of clothing was designed after the World War II, by Christian Dior nonetheless! It was referred to as the “New Look” silhouette, characterized by a small, nipped-in waist and full skirt falling below mid-calf length. I was actually tempted to wear my gloves (for shooting purposes only) but ran out of time to do so. That look would require an updo.

The skirt’s splat pattern is something familiar to you maybe. It was popularized by some style bloggers and fashion editors (Tibi) but I got mine from my trip to Bugis in Singapore two months ago. It was one of my happy finds. J
